Brown has gained a stellar reputation as one of the bright new talents on the scene, working with a who's who of Jazz artist.

This quartet is so amazing on so many different levels...go see 'em whilst they still exist in PDX. I really think this one could go a long way in the Jazz world!

He is a uniquely talented performer and educator, and a man in whom I trust and for whom I hold great admiration.

I used him almost exclusively in my band when he used to reside in the NYC area, as he always brought so much knowledge and artistry to the music. And combined with his multi-instrumentalist abilities, Chris Brown is a unique talent that's not often found.

The Jack Radsliff Trio (Jam Session)

  • The 1905 830 North Shaver Street Portland, OR, 97227 United States (map)

Since the inception of this music we call Jazz, the jam session format has been ground zero for the cultivation of this art form. It’s where the culture of Jazz is found in it’s rawest/purest form. Complete with all of its peculiarities and wonderfully surprising moments. And here in Portland, The 1905 (especially for musicians) represents the most important location for this type of artistic crucible to play out; where reputations are made and broken in the blink of an eye, all while balanced with an air of grace and encouragement.

So whether you’re just a fan of this music, or a musician that’s interested in trying your hand at joining a group of strangers to create a moment that’s bigger than any one person on stage, then I encourage you to come be a contributing part of the overall atmosphere.
