This quartet is so amazing on so many different levels...go see 'em whilst they still exist in PDX. I really think this one could go a long way in the Jazz world!

I used him almost exclusively in my band when he used to reside in the NYC area, as he always brought so much knowledge and artistry to the music. And combined with his multi-instrumentalist abilities, Chris Brown is a unique talent that's not often found.

The John Ellis Quartet

  • The 1905 830 North Shaver Street Portland, OR, 97227 United States (map)

We’re quite excited about having the NYC saxophonist John Ellis back at Oregon’s #1 Jazz venue. And as I’ve been saying lately, this venue has been making some aggressive moves towards bridging the proverbial gap between Portland and the rest of the country. So now that The 1905 is firmly on the radar of so many top musicians from NYC, is the reason why there has been an increased influx of these particular artists crossing this stage lately (which our Portland scene couldn’t be more excited about). So be sure to come through to hear one of the world’s most celebrated Jazz saxophonist [John Ellis] being backed by these other well-respected and internationally recognized musicians in their own right as well.
