This quartet is so amazing on so many different levels...go see 'em whilst they still exist in PDX. I really think this one could go a long way in the Jazz world!

I used him almost exclusively in my band when he used to reside in the NYC area, as he always brought so much knowledge and artistry to the music. And combined with his multi-instrumentalist abilities, Chris Brown is a unique talent that's not often found.

Tony Glausi Sextet Tribute to Art Blakey @ The Shedd

  • The Shedd Institute 868 High Street Eugene, OR, 97401 United States (map)

As one of the most influential groups within the history of Jazz music, Art Blakey and his many bands of young and fiery musicians have left a high water mark that many subsequent bands have attempted to attain. And so it's only fitting that whenever an opportunity is presented to highlight the body of work that this great bandleader has left behind, that attempts will be made to remind the public of what that level of excellence consisted of. And thus the Tony Glausi sextet will be taking on the challenge of presenting Art's music in a light that he and the rest of his many cohorts would have been extremely proud of. So be sure to make this evening a not-to-be-missed occasion!
